We have recently become aware of phishing scams targeting the general public, where individuals are receiving emails that appear to be from PayPal regarding a Mighty Ape transaction. As seen from the sender's address, these are not being sent out by PayPal and do not correspond to a legitimate Mighty Ape order.
Please report all PayPal Phishing Emails directly to PayPal so they can take action
These emails can be identified by the subject line: "Invoice Number: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-X (Mighty Ape Limited)"
These appear to be asking customers to follow a link, log in and review an order. These invoice numbers are much longer than any you will receive from Mighty Ape and do not match an order with us.
If you receive this email please DO NOT click on any links or attachments and do not respond.
No Mighty Ape order has been placed in your name, so there is no need to follow this up with us further. However, the interest of internet security, we do also advise that you report this to PayPal; you can find the instructions to do so here as well as updating your password for your PayPal account from the PayPal website.
We believe that these emails have been sent out en-masse to a random list of email addresses acquired elsewhere on the internet. The payment details and invoice number shown do not correspond to any orders with us, so if you have received this, rest assured that no legitimate purchase has been made with us, nor has your PayPal account been charged.
Although these emails to have nothing to do with either PayPal or Mighty Ape, unfortunately, it appears someone is using our name and reputation to scam the public. We take your account safely seriously. If you still have concerns about this or another suspicious email, we encourage you to get in contact with us.
